Common Sense vs. Nonsense – A Simple Choice This November The economy is purring along, the stock market hits new highs daily
, and 95.6 per cent of Americans are employed. -------------------------
But if the Left attains power in the upcoming midterms, they will raise taxes,
effectively ending the very favorable economic environment in which we find
ourselves. This is just one example that helps makes clear that the midterm
election is a choice between the common sense of the Republicans and the nonsense
of the Democrats.
People are more free in America than at anytime in history, blogging their
opinions at will, calling radio shows with viewpoints spanning the entire political
spectrum, publishing ideas that go from far left to far right. Yet, to the Left,
we live in a Nazi-like police state under President George W. Bush, with his
freedom-crushing Patriot Act and NSA spying program, both designed, by the way,
to catch terrorists.
The programs the president put into place are there to protect us and they have.
At last count the number of times we’ve been hit since 9/11 is holding
at zero. Again, common sense vs.nonsense.
Clearly, the Left does not appreciate what happens in a police state when opposition
to the leader is voiced, as it is throughout our own country every minute of
every day. In police states, they kill you, no questions asked. If, in fact,
we lived in such a state, as the Left has convinced itself we do, then many
who worked or wrote for The Huffington Post would have been “apprehended”
on May 10, 2005 – the second day of its existence.
Iraq isn’t an easy war but who said war was easy? War is oppositional.
Republicans know that we must beat the forces of Islamofascism in the heart
of the Middle East and not wait complacently for another attack on our soil.
But being passive, indeed timid, is the de facto Democratic “plan”
(after, of course, we cut and run!). So, the choice is the modify-and-win strategy
of the Republicans or the quit-and-appease plan of the Left. Common sense vs.nonsense.
Would having Nancy Pelosi – with her vitriolic, Hugo Chavez-like, anti-Bush
invective – as Speaker of the House be good for a country at war? Oh,
that’s right, it’s an “illegal” war and Ms. Pelosi should
be expected to admonish the president over it, right? Then why hasn’t
she criticized Hillary Clinton for her continued support of this illegal war?
‘Nuff said. Pelosi as a partisan attack dog is exactly what America does
not need during wartime.
Would John Conyers, readying his gavel for immediate impeachment proceedings
against the president, help or hurt our war effort? Of course, it would be damaging
to the country. (Could al Qaeda, ever have imagined better allies than the American
Left?) Would raising taxes during this period of prosperity, as Charles Rangel
is chomping at the bit to do, be good for an already booming economy? I don’t
see how.
Clearly, it would be better if control of Congress remained with Republicans
who understand the very real threat we face and the necessity of absolute victory
over those who want us dead. While the GOP is at war with Islamofascism, the
Left is at war with…Bush! Common sense vs.nonsense.
The American people are not stupid, though the leftist elites think they are.
Americans understand that they have a choice between Republicans who recognize
that long-term peace comes through strength and the Democrats who unrealistically
believe, deep down, that “war is not the answer.” Common sense vs.nonsense.
Given the choice on election between common sense vs. nonsense, my sixth sense
says that the intelligent and intuitive American people choose to keep the sober
and sane Republicans in power.
It's disheartening that your interpretation of tonight's significant democratic victory (and I offer my heartfelt 'congratulations') is that you're taking back the country from the "fearmongers". Did it ever occur to you that there is something to fear? Radical Islam is metastisizing like a cancer across the world. It was doing this *before* George W. Bush came on the scene. 9/11 only focused our attention on it. George W. Bush, at least, confined it to this global war to a battlefield: Iraq -- where we must defeat the forces of radical Islam. Everytime we grow a democracy, it's a another victory for us--and make no mistake, it is us against them. They want to take over he world, killing us in the process. By growing democracies in the mideast we do give muslims that might otherwise decide to join the jihad (just as Germans in the 30s joined nazism) a different course:,Democracy, which helps defeat Islamofascism --and that *is* the correct term for it.
Yes, I fear them. I feel fear when I hear of the plot to blow up airliners over our cities. But, I mostly fear that what Osama bet on is true: that the American people, more precisely, the American Left, does not have the stomach for the war the terrorists have declared and are waging. Oh, we can win this war, but not with one hand tied behind or backs. Tonight's election helped the forces of terror because the Democrats don't have the patience for war . Moreover, they believe that if they can only get into a room with someone, everything can be resolved by talking things out: expect a few "summits" in the mideast in the near future. And it won't help because they hate you and want you dead.
So, I do congratulate the Democrats on their victory tonight. I hope they use their new found power wisely, creatively and responsibly though I honestly don't thnk they will. They are still fueled by anger towards Bush, basically for having the audicity to win the election in 2000. The Left still can't believe such an "idiot" was in charge of THEIR country. I predict, for Democrats, it's revenge time -- investigations galore from the grassy knollers is coming.
And Bush? I predict he forges ahead with the serious work that needs to be done: winning Iraq and confronting Iran immediately. Bush, justifiably doesn't trust the Democrats and won't leave office before the issue of Iranian nukes is dealt with, most likely, militarily. He let the Europeans try diplomacy with them, but three years of talks produced continued defiance from Iran. In the end, Bush will not leave the fate of the country in Mrs. Clinton's hands.

Happy Days are here again! It looks as though you may hold on to Senate. And, of course, you still have your wet dream in the White House, but, finally, some real leadership. Yes Madam Speaker!!! We took back America from the fear mongers and incompetants.

Oh, and by the way, if you respond to my comment, which I doubt you will, you will probably mention the Khobar Towers and the USS Cole as evidence that we were attacked again during the Clinton administration. I believe that less than 3700 people were killed in those two attacks. We didn't invade Guatemala. And thousands more weren't left in a quagmire acting as sitting ducks while Al Gore's companies raked in billions in overcharges. But that's history. Thats how the previous administration was smart. And it illustrates why this administration is dangerous. We can still make a difference for the future. Vote for America on Nov. 7, vote for change. Vote Democratic.

May I give you a little PoliSci 101? Left and American Democrat are not interchangeable terms. It has been 5 years since we have been attacked. Clinton kept us safe for 7 1/2 years plus 8 months of bush's term. So using your logic we should re-elect Bill Clinton. The "damage" of the bush administration that you refer to is something many of us won't see for a long time. This doesn't even account for those that won't understand it when it happens. I'm assuming that one of those that won't understand will be named Seth Swirsky. I won't list them here since I am sick of saying the same thing over and over which apparently youre not sick of. Get over this Bush obsession. Besides, Bush is not on the ballot. Isn't a little check on the President, any President, a good thing? I hoope, if the Democrats win control, is that we won't see the same circus atmosphere that we saw with a GOP congress when we had a Democrat in the White House.
