did you know... The average life span of a major league baseball is 7 pitches? in the old days of baseball (till the mid-1920s), they used one ball for the entire game, retrieving foul balls and home runs from the stands when necessary. the balls themselves were quite dark at the end of a game as the pitchers put dirt on them to give them more of a grip.
