and More Hits
In 1938, a player for the Boston Red Sox named Mike
"Pinky" Higgins got 12 consecutive base hits. In
1952, Walt Dropo, a player with the Detroit Tigers,
tied Higgins' amazing record. Cleveland centerfielder
Tris Speaker had 11 straight hits in 1920 as did
the Red Sox Johnny Pesky in 1946 and the Yankees
Bernie Williams in 2002.
