Hits and More Hits

In 1938, a player for the Boston Red Sox named Mike "Pinky" Higgins got 12 consecutive base hits. In 1952, Walt Dropo, a player with the Detroit Tigers, tied Higgins' amazing record. Cleveland centerfielder Tris Speaker had 11 straight hits in 1920 as did the Red Sox Johnny Pesky in 1946 and the Yankees Bernie Williams in 2002.

On this panel, the ball was signed "Tris Speaker and me had 11 straight hits -- Johnny Pesky". At the top of this panel it's written "1954" which tells when Mike "Pinky" Higgins originally signed the ball for someone. I made it a theme ball in 2000.

On this panel, the Yankees' Bernie Williams wrote: "11 consec hits, Aug. 2002". Thus, everyone who has had 11 or more consecutive hits in baseball history has signed this ball.
