The Senators Forfeit Their Finale

On September 30, 1971, the Washington Senators played their last game in Washington (before they moved to Texas and became the Rangers). This is a ticket from that last game. If you had been to that game you would have seen the Senators, leading 7-5, with 2 outs in the 9th inning, have to forfeit the game because 14,460 mostly rowdy fans, surged onto the playing field, tearing it up – before the game had ended.
