was wearing when he unintentionally hit Red Sox
slugging star, Tony Conigliaro in the eye on August
18, 1967.
The pitch nearly killed "Tony C." Hamilton
was a very hard thrower and it's only luck that
Conigliaro survived. Tony C. battled back to have
one or two more good seasons, but his great promise
was never fulfilled. In 1990, he died of a heart
attack at the age of 45.
