Richard Nixon's Letter to Jimmie Foxx's Daughter

A week before the 1972 Watergate break in, President Richard Nixon sat down with his son-in-law David Eisenhower and together they made a list of who they considered the greatest baseball players of all time.

When the list was complete, the President had a gold embossed booklet printed that named his and David’s choices. Their choice of the greatest first baseman pre-World War II was the "The Beast" Jimmie Foxx, the slugging Philadelphia A's first baseman.

This is the letter that President Nixon sent to Foxx's daughter, Nancy Canaday, informing her that he had chosen her father as baseball's best first baseman..
