Rusty Staub’s 1st Home Run as an Expo
This is the first home run hit by all-time Montreal
Expos favorite, Rusty Staub, as an Expo. On the Official
National League Warren Giles baseball Rusty (known as
Le Grand Orange) wrote: “Home Run No. 1 as a Montreal
Expo Player. Opening Day New York Mets off Alvin Jackson
April 9, 1969”.
This was the first game ever played by the Expos, and
the second home run in franchise history (Catcher Dan
McGinn hit the first one innings earlier).
