Bo
Belinsky's No Hitter
One of the most colorful players of the 1960s, Bo Belinsky,
was a pool-hustling playboy who was traded from the
Orioles to the Angels in the 1961 expansion draft. Undefeated
in his first three Major League starts, he pitched the
first big league no-hitter on the West Coast against
the Orioles on May 5, 1962. This ball is the only ball
from that game and is inscribed by Belinsky. Acting
appearances in several TV shows, dates with Hollywood
starlets Ann-Margaret, Connie Stevens, Tina Louise and
a much-publicized romance with actress Mamie Van Doren,
helped keep Belinsky in the spotlight even after his
pitching deteriorated.
